Among the wines presented here you will discover some real
rarities the work of winemakers who are now very much in demand,
but whom we have known since their earliest vintages.
You'll also see that we like to shake up preconceptions.
In tastings I organized at Ampuis and Pomerol, for instance,
I haven't hesitated to present a simple Burgundy Chardonnay—the
Cuvée du Corps de Garde made by Ghislaine and Jean-Hugue
Goisot—next to the most prestigious white Burgundies of the
Côte de Beaune.
Some non-French wines have slipped onto our list too. The
Nez de Saint Pierre is the French importer for the best sweet
wines of Austria, the Ruster Ausbruch of Domaine Feiler-Artinger.
We also import their red cuvées, Mariental and Solitaire,
which rival the greatest Bordeaux.
Most recently I have introduced to France the sublime Pedro
Ximenes dessert wines made by Toro Albala. Some tasters have
rated those wines a 20 on a scale of 20.
